Better Together - Together for Change CIC
Together for Change* organised a national event, held in Swansea on the 11th of June 2025 called Better Together, aimed at building networks and an alliance for stronger communities across Wales
It brought together community groups, third sector organisations, public services, and cross-sector partnerships to explore practical ways to strengthen collaboration, align efforts, and improve the impact of wellbeing work across Wales.
Together For Change wanted a film which would represent the complex and nuanced themes from the day in a way that was engaging and would inspire further discussion and support for an alliance. Rather than live-streaming or recording the talks as a remote record of the event we spent time carrying out reflective interview discussions with the main contributors and interwove their insights together with actuality footage from within the participatory workshops to create a more immersive and immediate experience for the audience. The film has been successful as both an evaluation tool and as a dynamic way of communicating the need for an alliance to policy makers in Wales.
*Together for Change CIC is a social business that bridges community-led action, research and policy – always putting people at the heart of change.
“Working with We Are Torchy on the Better Together: Building networks and an alliance for stronger communities in Wales film was a genuine collaboration. Talented and professional, Eifion and Sarah brought real insight to complex subject, centring on how partnerships across Wales can better connect evidence, policy and action to strengthen community led action. The creative dimension they brought to the piece was both insightful and precise. The film brilliantly distils ideas, captures multiple perspective and reflects on some of the big questions about collaboration and impact. It is therefore more than a record of the event and has become a catalyst for future thinking and action. Throughout the project, their professionalism, openness and instinct for the subject matter were evident. Working with them was a genuine pleasure.”
